This one day event sponsored by “Texas Rowing For All~ Paralympics Sport Club, Texas Rowing Center; Seton Brain & Spine Rehabilitation; US Tennis Association; and the US Olympic-Paralympic Committee. The Paralympic Experience is an opportunity for citizens with disabilities and community members at large to learn and participate in several water-based sports: kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, adaptive tennis, handcycling. Rowing and equipment demonstrations will be held, along with other activities. The Paralympic Experience was offered to all registered attendees as a free event.
Event included: on-land participation and on-water participation at beautiful Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas. Registered participants will have opportunities to learn basic elements of paddling in a kayak or canoe; watch rowing demonstrations; introduction to ergometers (rowing machines); introduction to hand cycling; participate in adaptive & wheelchair tennis.
