Texas Rowing Center, Texas Rowing For All, Austin Parks & Recreation Department, Austin Trail Foundation, Austin City Council and Austin High School representatives and community citzens gathered to dedicate the newest accessibility feature in Austin. A serpentine concrete ramp and ADA access to facilities was formally dedicated in October, 2011.
Matt Knifton, TRC owner & TRFA Board member provided a brief history of adaptive paddling & rowing recreation on Lady Bird Lake. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held with Laura Morrison, City of Austin Council Member and Sarah Hensley, Director of Austin Parks & Recreation weilding the scissors and launching full access to Lady Bird Lake at the entrance to Texas Rowing Center.
